Feels so unpolished now
This game used to be great. Whilst it is still very fun, it's not what it once was and hasn't maintained the polish and refinement that really defined the title for me when it came out first. The problems are very frustrating on an iPhone 4 because 1) the graphics have not been updated for the retina display and 2) the very first Gatling gun upgrade achievement through game centre doesn't work and shows "null". I feel this type of thing would never have been allowed to get through quality control in the past.

Please allow use of both Game Center and OpenFeint simultaniously! I want to be able to be use/get Leaderboard and Achievements in both systems!!
At least allow you to log into both and switch easily, so you don't need to re-login to each (especially OF); please!!

Fantastic
Really awesome time-waster. Last few games I played crashed though. Having to restart my iPhone every time I want to play a game that won't crash isn't very good. Fix this, and it gets 5 stars.

Absolutely Fantastic
Great game, and not as battery intensive as others make it out to be. I did an experiment. My iphone was less then a week old when I bought this. I charged it up full and played this for an hour, 7/8 battery life still there.
As for the game itself, beautifully constructed and perfectly thought out.

Yes indeed, I'd agree with most other reviewers here in saying that Fieldrunners is an excellent title. Great graphics and sound effects; simple but effective touch-and-drag elements; straightforward strategy - what more do you want? Overall, it's pretty cool, and seems (easily) to be better than the other games in this kind of Tower Defence genre. However. Why 'just' four stars out of five? Well, as other reviewers have noticed, eventually this game defeats you, regardless of what you've done. My current high score is 553,200 on level 199 on the Grasslands map (NOT easy to achieve, I can tell you!), but at a certain point, regardless of your upgraded towers, NOTHING can stop Helicopters. A dozen Death Stars couldn't stop one simple helicopter from crossing the level, and losing you a life, so, it feels like the game is 'cheating' a bit - it scales up beyond the point that the player can keep up with. Still, for its pick-up-and-play appeal, Fieldrunners is definitely well worth a purchase, and will waste - sorry - reward you with many hours of diverting gameplay...

The best - a real classic - killer game - beautifully crafted
I keep coming back to this game BUT I fund it impossible to get past level 140 or so because of the helis. I implore you to make it easier still. It's frustrating to get so far only to die. There must be a way but the challenge is too great and it may discourage me from coming back for more. The animation is incredible. How did you guys pull it off?this game is timeless and is a true iPhone classic already. From a game whose been around since the early 80s. 5 stars all the way.

Great fun! But...
This is a great way to kill some time but it can be a bit repetitive or 'tedious' at times... So it could really do with a few new levels and towers, and maybe a few more game modes, like another tower defense game called "tap defense". Apart frm that, great game!!

Very addictive game. It's definitely one of those 'just one more go' games that'll have you playing your battery dead. Perfect for the iPhone, casual gaming at it's best and very simple to learn the gameplay. Graphics are great to boot. I can't wait for the promised update with more towers and new features. Unlike at lot of the stuff I impulse buy from the app store I've been playing this game almost every day!
