ToonPAINT allows you to easily create awesome looking cartoon-paintings with your own photos.
Even if you have never drawn or painted before, ToonPAINT sets you up for quick success by providing a "MagiSketch" that you can simply color-in. It's as easy as "paint-by-numbers", but using your own personal images. Unlike other photography apps, ToonPAINT is not just an image filter -- it's a smart-painting application that enables you to express your creativity and obtain compelling results without requiring you to take Art classes.
Simply import a photo, create an "automagic" sketch of the photo, color-in at your leisure, and you're done!
IMPORTANT -- You can CHANGE THE COLORS in the palette by DOUBLE-TAPPING on the color splats.

It works ok.. I found it very limited for the price.... Only used it a few times.. Then shelved it....just couldn't find a use. And I found the ui a little awkward ...two stars cause it's to expensive for what it does.....
Just got the update a while back and tried it again tonight... Does some new stuff , but still not great for making attractive images, I think it's just the drawing program is a little ugly... Still can't find a use... Also I think I've seen one or two of those positive reviews word for word before... Like two months ago... Do people come back and put up the exact same reviews again and again.. ? Oh well.. It's still way to expensive ...

Great app but buggy
Great app but it sometimes crashes when saving my creations. Seems to be related to hi-res photos. Undo feature doesn't seem to always work either.

Great app i must say, but it wont save my pictures correctly. I painted a photo and when i save it the paint job is all the place. Very annoying because you can make some real cool album cover art with this app. Has anyone else had this problem?

Was sceptical about whether I'd be able to achieve anything close to the examples they provide but was pleasantly surprised with the constant quality of the results. The finger painting is the icing on the cake.
Hi-res output and changing the brush softness would be nice to see in a future update.

Can be beautiful...
First, the negative points - it's a little slow to use, and has very dull, almost intrusive info screens that are unecessary and quite distracting. And, unfortunately, the biggest criticism is that it only renders to one size of image - small. Compared to other, arty apps that render to large sizes (such as Sketch Me), it's a real shame...
BUT.
On the other hand, whether or not you're creating Black and White images only, want to try Colour finger painting between the lines, or simply want to render and then work on the image in PhotoShop or another image editing programme, this app really produces some beautiful images, which All my friends have commented on, and asked me how I made them. With a little tinkering, and an understanding of how it works, this is a superb little app, and I'll definitely make lots of use from it.
It just loses marks for being a little clunky, and for only creating in small file sizes - but it's still a great app, if you're creative...

This App is unreal! It's not like all these other apps that show a great end result but you can never re-create it. You can with this App, I've applied the effects to over a dozen images and they look great!! Get it, you won't be sorry!
